Do We Have To Know Dates?

One of the reasons I like Bill Maher is that he is funny and intelligent.  One of the reasons I do not like Bill Maher is that he is mean and angry. Some guys are funny and mean (Did you like Don Rickles?), and some guys are angry and intelligent (George Carlin?). Some are angry funny (Chris Rock). Some mean intelligent (Louis Black).⁴

Some are just kind. (Billy Crystal. Jerry Seinfeld. Billy and Jerry probably agree.)

(Sorry. Just stopped to reply to 45’s “Congrats to UVA” tweet, like he’s ever going to read it, and then I read the thread which had clever jokes on the following topics:

• Hamberders for the champions
• Great players on both sides (i.e. UVA fans who couldn’t attend in Minneapolis in person were filmed in the home arena in Charlotte, VA – you know, the place where the white supremacy march happened in America in 2017?*)

mashed in with too many Standard Twitter Bot Responses (can we call them “STBR’s”?) such as:

• Resign
• MAGA
• Best. President. Ever.
• Shouldn’t you be sleeping?
• Executive Time
• The tennis shorts picture

And then I thought about the DHS Purge taking place this week and how that fits into the overall Fascism is Coming⁴⁵ fear angle – you know, DOJ is headed by a stooge, IRS by a crony, DHS/SS/ICE/CBP all soon to be hench-“people” [‘cause we gotta be politically correct in our writing, amiright?] – and I’m here to tell you that I spent more time today thinking about work and my house and my yard than I did about 45, and that happened all weekend, too, and now this DHS Purge thing happens, and I’m thinking, “Damn you, 45! Your [sic] making me Pay Attention again.”

Now I’ve gotta Do Something.

And I wondered if Bill Maher is doing something, or just talking.

*It was a very large arena where even larger flat screen displays displayed⁺ the game to UVA fans who have enough disposable income and free time to secure homecourt NCAA Championship viewing with thousands of other people on a school night but not enough to go to Minnesota.
