Tucker Tonite – 3/26/19

But first, some Brian Williams, like backing the swing up as far as you can before taking off.

Tuned in as they were saying they were confused by the assertion in Barr’s letter that Mueller did not charge Trump with obstruction.  2 pundits trying to read the tea leaves in word choices in the Letter.

So I missed the lead story.

(Last night Brian Williams closed with a long diatribe asking why Lindsey Graham waited until after the Barr letter to Tweet his defense of McCain.)

[Commercials]

Video of 45 today saying, “The Republican party will soon be known as the Party of HealthCare. You watch.” And then Brian went into the “Republicans are coming for your pre-existing conditions” talking point. (Do we really want to argue about HealthCare again? I mean right now?)

Brian closes with “Catholic Church getting more humble” story.

Tucker opens with Jussie Smollett story, with extended replay of some of Jussie’s press conference with a “yeah right” comment laced with bitter smugness replete with “even in famously corrupt Chicago” and a live-caricatured-of-a-Chicago-police-officer-spewing-soft-on-crime -reverse-racism-in-Illinois fear inducer. A litany of “people-to-be-afraid of”.  (All the usual suspects.) He gave the whole story 18 minutes of air time.

[commercials – still with the MyPillow guy, but also still has a Japanese car company]

Opens with derisive comments about Mueller and the Libs as told by the Mainstream News that wandered in unpredictable ways until it hit on a “former CIA agent” (TC was wise enough to get out in front of the fact of his guest’s firing from the CIA and prison time) who had a real bone to pick with John Brennan and came to the defense of Michael Flynn and Roger Stone.

Next bit – An attack on The Liberal News from the co-founder of The Federalist, followed by a going-to-commercial tease about “Next we’re going to pick on Michael Avenatti.”  [Mark my words, he won’t be the first to suffer retribution from the victors.]

I’m over halfway through, but I don’t know if I can watch any more meanness.

“Creepy Porn Lawyer” was the refrain.  “The Zelig of Criminals” was also repeated twice.

“Should 16-year-olds vote?” (Subtext – Democrats are manipulating the vote.)

Tease-out that we’re coming back to bash on the Jussie Smollett story again.  Followed by a GizaDreamSheets by MyPillow commercial so long it felt like paid programming, then a NASCAR commercial.

I made it to the end tonight!  Yay for me!
